Gayle Montgomery is a mixed media artist working in assemblage, collage and the bookarts in Ranchos de Taos, New Mexico. She is a self-taught artist but minored in art in her university years…her major being vocal music. Currently she shows only in her home studio as her creative process is best fulfilled without the pressure of gallery exhibits.
She has exhibited at the St. Louis Art Museum, Art Attack Gallery, American Visions Gallery and the Greeting Gallery all of St. Louis. She has also taught workshops at Red Lead and Washington University in St. Louis.
In Taos, New Mexico she has exhibited at Art Divas Gallery, Two Graces Gallery, New Grounds Gallery, Pasa al Tiempo Studio, First State Bank and Taos Gallery. The Santa Fe School of Art and Design also exhibited her work in the summer of 2012. In 2004 her artwork was featured in National Geographic on Assignment’s documentary “Dying to Tell the Story” which won first place in the New York Indie Film Festival category “Best Broadcast Documentary”.
Her goal is to share her art with others and spread the joy and happiness that creativity produces.
