MARCH LIVING ART ON THE EDGE

Recently I have been pondering the IMPORTANCE of creativity for everyone.  In these difficult days, it can be not only a joy but a release of stress.  Many artists, including Shepard Fairey, are taking their art to new heights to resist and release.

Toni Morrison wrote "This is precisely the time when artists go to work.  There is no time for despair, no place for self-pity, no need for silence, no room for fear."  She also wrote concerning art that "is how civilizations heal" and we all know that our country needs healing.  Daily we are confronted with more and more issues that we have never faced before in the U.S. and through creativity we can express our views and add unlimited joy in our lives.

I cannot tell you how many times I have heard my friends and others say they aren't creative but they do not realize that creativity takes many, many forms.  One may not be a painter but highly skilled in the culinary arts.  One may not be a sculptor but has a 'green thumb' like no other.  I could go on and on but the idea is that we were born to create.  Find your muse;  find your creativity in what ever form suits you.  We were, yes, each and every one of us, born to create.

Now I present a few pieces I completed this month.

The first two pieces I did to lighten the load in my heart.  It is still a wonderful world out there and we must search for beauty every day.

"Life is Beautiful"

The next two pieces are abstracts which I always enjoy doing.
